Core Program Classes

Integrated Skills: Classes are designed to focus on developing information synthetizing skills when a person is reading, listening, writing and speaking in the English language.

Communicative Grammar: Classes are structured with a more practical and communicative approach, helping students learn and practice grammatical norms and functions in english language.

Communication: Classes are built with expressive themes aimed to teach the students, in groups environments, how native english speakers communicate, improving the student’s ability to communicate more naturally and fluently.

Conversation: Classes are created to teach students language and functional expressions to help them converse clearly and concisely in day to day situations. Moreover, the student will also be able to learn and practice body language, intonation and other appropriate forms of communication within the english language.

Beyond the core classes, students can also opt in for elective classes, tailoring a program to their individual needs.

Elective Classes

Basic Academic English Skills: This class is recommended for those who want to succeed in post secondary educational programs. The class covers not only the basics in reading, writing and speech, but also study habits and critical thinking skills.

Introduction to Writing: In this class, students are encouraged to learn the fundamentals of writing, familiarizing themselves with discourse, sentences, structure and context.

Intermediate Functional Writing: In this class, students are invited to compose writing pieces for day to day situations while practically developing their skills and learning how to work independently.

Pronunciation: Classes aimed at speaking and listening, for students who want to sound just like native speakers. The program focuses on the sounds and intonation of the english language. Upon conclusion, the student will be able to speak with clarity and confidence.

Business Communication: This program is aimed at students that wish to work for international companies. In class, students are guided through the process of job searching, learn the necessary linguistic skills to understand ads, create an online professional presence, write a resume that stands out and the knowledge to succeed in a job interview. The program also focuses on communication strategies for a variety of professional situations.

Pathway/UCTP (University and College Transfer Program)

Studying in a Canadian college is an opportunity that opens many doors. Be it for the job market or for immigration purposes, a quality education and canadian degree sets you apart from the crowd and on the right path to achieve your goals.

Academic Pathway is designed for individuals with a high school or post-secondary diploma. It helps you develop the necessary skills to be accepted into a college or university, under a graduate or postgraduate program, as well as eliminating the need of presenting a TOEFL or IELTS test result to enroll. Through a Pathway program, the student not only develops linguistic, personal and professional skills, but also walks out ready for the academic challenges with a first world education.

The program’s duration varies depending on how long the student needs to attain the college’s required level. The UCTP program (University & College Transfer Program) lasts for 12 weeks, and requires an intermediate to advanced level of english. But if you’re not there yet, don’t worry! The Pathway admits students from various levels, and prepares you to get there. Focus Programs

Aimed at those who already have a basic grasp of the english language, the Focus Programs aid students in developing specific skills, while in constant contact with other students and native teachers.

English for Health Care: A 16-week program aimed at students/professionals in the health field that plan on working in an English-speaking environment. The program covers a variety of subjects, from technical aspects to ethical questions, from the practice of language and vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading and speaking, improving fluency and language proficiency.

Focus on Speaking: An 8-week program aimed at students who already possess solid grammar skills, yet are struggling in expressing themselves clearly. The program covers three periods with different pedagogical forms when combined, grants a significant boost in the student’s speaking skills. The students are always being exposed to different speaking mechanisms, slangs’ and discoursing in public.

Focus on Writing: A 12-week program aimed at developing the student’s writing skills. The program consists of three daily classes: the first, focused on comprehension and vocabulary; the second, on grammar structure and the third, for specific text composition. Moreover, other related key points are addressed in the program, guiding the students in the right direction for writing, proofreading/editing strategies, creativity, flexibility and planning written compositions.

Gap Year
